Victoria United Celebrates Trophy With Southwest Regional Officials

After clinching their first-ever title, Victoria United embarked on a jubilant celebration tour, sharing their joy and victory with the Cameroonian people. The tour started at the Ministry of Secondary Education, where Minister Nalova Lyonga warmly welcomed the team. Expressing admiration for their courage, she generously donated FCFA three million in support of their achievement.

Continuing their triumphant journey, Victoria United was granted an audience at the Prime Minister’s Office, where PM Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute acknowledged their remarkable skills and dedication. In a gesture of appreciation, the PM presented the team with an envelope containing FCFA 10 million.

The tour in Yaounde culminated at the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries, and Animal Industries, where Dr. Taïga extended a warm reception to the victorious team.

In Douala, the team visited the MTN head office, sponsor of the Elite One and Two championships. Welcomed with great honour, players and staff were pleasantly surprised with boxes containing unlimited internet access for a period of six months. As a token of gratitude, the team presented a signed club jersey to the CEO of MTN Cameroon.

Upon their arrival in Buea, the team was received in audience by Governor of the Southwest Region, Bernard Okalia Bilaï, who commended the team for bringing pride, thus enhancing the reputation of the Region.

The celebratory entry into the city of Limbe was met with enthusiastic scenes from the local population. The players and managers of Opopo were treated to a grand ceremony at the Centenary Stadium, organised with support from MTN Cameroon, further solidifying the bond between the team and the community.
